Chacon Confirmed for Lideres Luncheon WASHINGTON, May. 21 -- The Congressional Hispanic Staff Association (CHSA) has confirmed Director General of the Foreign Service Arnold Chacon for its quarterly Lideres Luncheon scheduled for May 29th. CHSA will be partnering with the Hispanic Employment Council on Foreign Affairs for this event. Every quarter, CHSA hosts the Lideres Luncheon Series on Capitol Hill. The Lideres Series is designed to offer members the unique opportunity to have a dialogue with policy and political leaders in the Latino community who demonstrate outstanding leadership and an unwavering commitment to public service. Ambassador Arnold Chacon was sworn in on Monday, December 22nd as Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources. A career member of the Foreign Service for 33 years, he was U.S. Ambassador to Guatemala from August 2011–March 2014. From 2008–2011, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission in Madrid, Spain and before that as Deputy Executive Secretary in the Secretary’s Executive Secretariat. He has also served at our missions in Honduras, Mexico, Chile, Italy, Peru, and Ecuador, as well as Washington, D.C. and USUN New York. "We are honored to have Director General Chacon join us for a special Lideres event," said Veronica Duron, President of CHSA. "A global perspective is critical to the future of the United States and as Latinos on Capitol Hill we can greatly benefit from Director General Chacon's immense experience abroad.
